What if I am a victim or witness in a criminal case and need information about the status of a case?
You can always find out information about the status of a case through the respective clerk’s office or by calling the prosecuting officer or detective at the appropriate law enforcement agency. These phone numbers are on our website under the heading of “Clerk’s Office Contact” or “Law Enforcement Agencies Contact”. The clerk’s offices have the most up to date information about the general sessions court cases. Either the clerk’s offices or our office has the most current information on cases that have been bound over to the grand jury or are pending in criminal court. (See also the next Q&A about whom to contact at our office.)
